Son Heung-min (32, Tottenham Hotspur), the captain of the national soccer team, will help the 19th Homeless World Cup in South Korea.

The 2024 Homeless World Cup will be held from Sept. 21 to Sept. 28 at Hanyang University in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. The organizing committee said, "We have invited 44 male and 20 female countries."

Son Heung-min sponsored the #passforhome challenge to promote the 19th Homeless World Cup, helping to host the event for the first time in Asia. As it is the captain of Tottenham Hotspur (England), ranked 22nd in the world and 43rd in the UEFA club, it has a significant impact.

"Son Heung-min, one of the best players in Asia, is giving hope and inspiration to us," said the headquarters of the Homeless World Cup in Edinburgh, Scotland. "Soccer is a global language that connects the world."
"Son Heung-min, who makes the audience excited every time he enters the stadium, is something that inspires the viewers' passion," said Mel Young, co-founder of the Homeless World Cup. "I don't think it's real that one of the biggest stars in the history of the English Premier League (EPL) supported the first Asian tournament."

Son Heung-min was the top scorer in the British EPL, ranked first in the 2021-22 European league. He deserves to be touched by the sponsorship of the Homeless World Cup headquarters and Mel Young for the #passforhome challenge, asking, "Are we dreaming now?"

The Homeless World Cup is a 4:4 soccer game in which one goalkeeper and three field players play. The national team will consist of a total of eight players, including four members waiting to be replaced.
The first Homeless World Cup, which started in 2003 with 18 countries, has expanded to 48 countries in the May 7, 7, and 9th tournaments in 2007, 2009, and 2011. Since the sixth tournament in 2008, women's events have also been underway. 스포츠토토

The host countries are nine countries (the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Scotland, Austria, Wales, Italy, Poland and France), followed by North America (Mexico America), South America (Brazil Chile), Africa (South Africa), and Oceania (Australia).

Scotland hosted the 3rd and 9th tournaments in 2005 and 2011, and Mexico hosted the 10th and 16th tournaments in 2012 and 2018. The 19th Korea World Cup is also meaningful as it is the first homeless World Cup in Asia.
